A 35 year old lorry driver has a watery right eye that has been treated as acute conjunctivitis without success by his company doctor. On inspection he is noted to have proptosis of this same right eye. Examination and investigations reveal a well-encapsulated lesion in the intraconal space, lateral to the optic nerve. This lesion has wide vascular spaces. His wife is concerned and demands emergency treatment. These clinical feature are characteristic of:

a) ectropion
b) cavernous hemangiomas
c) chronic dacryocystitis
d) glaucoma
e) gonococcal infection
